On our second large bag for our 6 month old lab mix puppy. She loves it. We have been using it to help her recover from being emaciated. She has filled in so beautifully. We have been feeding her 4 times a day to get her weight up. I think we can start to taper it down in a month or two. She is really thriving on this food. Thank you! Also really thank you for keeping the price down. We are going through it so fast, it also is the best value.

My 10 year old lab has had skin and ear allergies for many years. This is the first dog food that just after one month I am already seeing an improvement! Grain and potato free is the way to go! Also this food is high in protein so she eats less! And the cost of this dog food is way less then other brands I have got over the years. And the quality is just as good and even better then the more expensive brands of dog foods!

We have been using First Mate/Kasiks dog food for years on dogs with chicken allergies with no problems. Sal if you click on the chicken fat ingredient above a description comes up:
Description
Chicken Fat
Chicken Fat – all diets need a source of fat to be complete. FirstMate uses protein free chicken fat as it provides our animals with a safe and healthy fat source. Food allergies are caused by a reaction with protein, this chicken fat will not exacerbate a chicken allergy.

I really want to like this food. My dogs who can eat it enjoy it very much. But I also have a dog with an intolerance to chicken and, well, intolerances are not pretty when triggered and I have some cleaning to do. My fault for not checking the label as thoroughly as I usually do – I just trusted the “single protein” label to not include other animals.

We love this food. Our 2 boxers love this food and is fantastic in dealing with their protein allergies. They look very lean and healthy as they have toned lean look now . They were always at a healthy weight but they are more defined in their muscle tone.

We have been having problems trying to get our 6 month old lab to eat all his food for the day. Usually he won’t touch his food unless very hungry. Put down a small portion of this food to start his transition and he devoured it in seconds. Very happy so far!
